I am Sheba!

FINALLY.

After weeks of anticipation – more actually if you consider my desperate need to attend a conference of any sort in English – it was finally time. I did it! I attended the Release Your Inner Queen of Sheba by Heba Alshareef, jazaha Allahu kel khair.

To sum it up in as few words as possible, I’d say it was eye-opening. Life-altering. It forces you to realize your potential. To face yourself, and bring yourself to task. There really is no room for self-deception, or shyness at a conference like that.

And it was empowering! God, did I leave that room desperately optimistic. Hoping against hope.

Can I do this? Can I face myself?

Well I took the first two steps. I attended the workshop, and I bought the book. And perhaps most importantly, I was honest with myself – sometimes brutally so – today. InshAllah. Only time will tell!

72 hours to save myself!

  1. Sounds like a great conference!

Is there a link to the book? Or perhaps an action related PDF? I would love to be part of it!

    • Yes, it was! It was at Cragie Hall yesterday (Saturday June 06). But it was a women only thing, lol. So yeah… I don’t think you’d have been there, or been interested, right? But it was amazinggg!! =D

  2. Very interesting. Is this the sister of that guy who does those AlMaghrib Institute classes?

    • Yupp!! Which kind of reminds me: are you going to either the Science of Creed or A Heart Serene? I’m not sure about the former – exam weekend – but I WILL be at the second, inshAllah!
      See you there?

  3. Remind me again when those are. There’s a bunch of stuff going on and I tend to mix up my dates.

    • I know what you mean! I think that’s a good thing though alhamudlilalh!

K, so the Science of Creed is the one by Navaid Aziz and it’s on June 20 and 21st. A Heart Serene is by Sh Riad Ouarzazi (apparently it’s a degree seminar) and it’s double weekend: July 24-26 and August 1-2.

Oh, and there’s an MSA BBQ: July 5th 3-8pm Bowness. If you need anymore info, let me know =D

  4. Well as for the first event, my birthday is that weekend so I probably won’t be able to make it then. I’ll definitely try to make it out to the second event. I’ll probably be at the MSA BBQ as my brother and his friends all attend that.

There is also a Muslim fashion show happening at University called Offbeat Muslim Fashion happening on July 18. That should be good.

Wow, a lot of things are happening this summer!

  5. 🙂 And the addictions begin……..alhamdulillah lol 😛
You just wait till you’ve taken as many seminars as *some people*…
